: : Hi Everyone,
: : Here is an article from today's San Francisco Chronicle. I think it is important to know about these environmental issues and the problems that are facing the people of the region. It is good to see that people are taking a stance and not sitting by just letting this happen.

: Hi Ayesha,
: This is not just a Canadian problem, and it is not a recent problem. It's a world-wide Arctic problem. Our Arctic people get their pollutants from Russia, we are told. Australians are in trouble, as is Antarctica. I do find it difficult to imagine that the problems in a particular town in Nunavut can be tied to a particular town in Iowa. I think the problem is much more widespread than that. Everyone needs to decrease pollution, not just Iowa or Penna., or even the US. It won't get better until the whole industrialized world accepts responsibility for the problem. The recent treaty is a start.
