I remember reading an interview with DDL about his character and the language he would use. I seem to recall that he and the director, the screenwriter and some historians/linquist were quite involved in trying to come up with a dialouge that would be accurate. This was before I saw the movie (didn't see it right away becasue I flying around in Arabian Gulf), and before I read the books, so I really didn't understand the DRASTIC NEED TO COME UP WITH A DECENT THINGS FOR THE MAN TO SAY. DDL said that they had settled on a sort of proto-American/English/Native American dialouge. I think he said it came off as Clint Eastwood with an accent.. Do you remember that interview?
