Being the Sheriff of this fair village, it's my duty to be acquainted with all our fine citizens, and especially to protect and defend the fair ladies among us.  Why don't you just set a spell and have a glass of cool lemonade, and you can tell me about your lovely self.  Obviously you are new in town. Here, you can sit in this nice wicker rocker and cool yourself.  You seem to be a bit overheated and nervous.

: Well, my, my....what DO we have here?  Benton, my dear, I see you must have forgotten about our 11 o'clock appointme .... er .... bible studies meeting.  And since you are so obviously enjoying the company of this FINE lady, I will return back to the House of Hoo-Haa and check on Cousin Eclair...she and young Dweebie Day-Lewis have had a falling out, and to be quite honest, we just CAN'T afford to lose the busine....um...lose such fine friends as Dweebie....so, goodbye Sherriff, Miss..er..Rosethorn, did you say?  And Miss Rosethorn, perhaps you would care to drop into the House of Hoo-Haa sometime for a cup of tea and a crumpet?  Splendid....

: *hmmmmm, methinks there is something a little strange about THAT young lady....I have never seen a corset done up QUITE that way before....and then there is that little moustache problem..not terribly genteel.....weeell.....something tells me the lovely Miss Rosethorn will not provide TOO much competition for the House of Hoo-Haa for very long.......hehehehe.....
