: : These two survived. The first was Kanipe, buried where I'll probably end up croaking, Marion, NC. The other, an Italian immigrant by the name of, Giovanni Martini, rests in Brooklyn, NY ... my birthplace.
: : : No wonder I'm obsessed!

: : I'm sorry, Rich, I'm a little confused. Why were the *survivors* buried?? ;o)
: :
: : Now, is this 'coincidence' - or 'Karma'? Whatever, it's amazing the way things are all 'connected', isn't it. Thanks for all these little gems, both of you. It's really interesting!!
: : Kate.
: Ahhhhhhhhhh........because they would be like 150 years old or so if they WEREN'T buried? See what washboard stomachs and buns of steel do to you Kate? They rot your brain thinking about them. Far better to have thoughts of bellies over belts and sagging butts. Won't rot your brain.

Well now, y'see, Rich didn't actually intimate that they had DIED! He said 'These two survived. The first, Kanipe was buried...as was Giovanni Martini'. Sounds like a cheap trick to me, to play on heroes that survived that battle!! Is that what Americans do to their heroes that have the audacity to survive?! Or is that the American way of making sure the country isn't 'choked up' with too many immigrants?! :o)
And just a little hint, Gnomie - women can NEVER have too many thoughts about 'washboard stomachs and buns of steel'!! Quite frankly, that's what keeps us doing all this 'super Mum' stuff, ie. clean house, shop, do laundry, give birth to and teach kids, run taxi service, paint and decorate house, gardening, working, fixing car/computer/drains, sewing hallowe'en/concert/dancing costumes, financial advisor, chancellor of the exchequer, etc., etc., - and usually ALL UNPAID!!
The least you can do is allow us our 'dreams'!! :o)
Kate.
