: #2 - NC is home to the oldest river in North America, aptly named the "New River".

: I am sure that a progenitor of one of those fungi that I dated must have named this river....but then, hmmmmmmm, I guess it WAS new back then to them. Uhhhhhhhhh,......WELL, they just shoulda' been more forward thinking then, that's all!!!!!!!!
