Dearest Colleen,
It has been too long since my last letter. It has always been hard for me to express my thoughts on paper, this time may be different.

All the lads attended a Market Faire a week ago at Fort Frederick in Mary Land. There were many sutlers and vendors present, and we all took advantage of the abundant wares to replenish much neede items for our kits. Shoes were purchased, hobnails and heelplates were installed. Flints and gun parts were obtained for the Besses. New canteens were needed badly.

Many new friends were made. Many Flags and ThreeTales were reunited with some of their old comrades, who they called "GreyBeards". A group of surveyors and trackers, called The Patuxents, made us very welcome. Memories will linger for many years.

ThreeTales spoke of seeing many faces in the crowd as a reflection of his past adventures. I too thought i saw the faces of those who are no longer with us. There was the face of wee John MacKay; of Pam, the Tavern Keeper's daughter, from Raestown; and some of our lads lost at Dusquene and Loyalhanna. There were even the faces of the two Demon brothers Red Leaf and Red Bud. All were reflections of the past two years.

We left Fort Frederick at the begining of this week and traveled North into Penn's Woods. After two days' walk we passed Harris' Ferry and Fort Hunter. We arrived at Fort Augusta thursday, where Seamus's sweetheart, Nancy the dark haired Lass, was waiting for him. After resting for a couple days, we are now headed East to a region called Allemangel. ThreeTales' wife, TwoBottle, had come to the Faire, and we are now escorting her home. I have been seeing you in her. She has red hair, just as yours. Her face and form are also a copy of you. Even her laugh sounds so familiar. She has made me heartsick for you, and this is the reason for this letter. We have seen some of the most amazing lands in our travels since crossing into Penn's Woods, and Tales and Flags say the areas that we will see in the next two weeks are finer yet. My wish is that you and the wee ones could gain passage to America, and we could settle here on a small farm. I beg that you make inquiries to that effect, and let me know of your thoughts.

I must close for now, but will send another letter soon. We are to head South to the Carolinas in a few weeks, and hope to have your answer soon after.

My Love to You and the Children
Your Husband, Davey
