: Wanna smell something really, REALLY good?!?
: Just walk out the door of my house, out into the green pasture ... Just walk practically anywhere here in Mohicanland at this time of year ...
: Wafting through the mid-Spring air ... the scents of lilac & honeysuckle, blended together like some great chef's concoction ... a true treat for the senses!
: Ah, life is good!

RICH!! Stop taunting me with lilac and honeysuckle! I'll bet the forsythias bloomed a few weeks back, too, huh? I just LOVE spring up north! (Hey, from HERE, North Carolina is ALMOST Yankee country!!!)
But I won't complain...6 weeks ago, we had the sweet, sweet scent of orange blossoms wafting everywhere, including through my garden. The Giant Swallowtails have already laid their eggs on the orange trees in my yard & hatched the first round of 'pillars. The blossoms are gone, Valencias, Ruby Reds, and satsumas are setting fruit. NOW the garden is filled with the scent of sweet alyssum and heliotrope, both of which are bringing in the hummingbirds. Plus my Purple Majesty salvia, pineapple sage, and other butterfly plants are in full bloom. Yes, I know we are way ahead of the rest of the country down here, but in a few more weeks, it will be too hot for me to go out & sit on my garden bench, so I am enjoying it as often as I can right now. Since I can't be in the place I love (NC mountains), I'll love the place I AM. (Is that another way to say "Bloom where you are planted?")
I'm off to cut some cornflowers and pink salvias for the living room!
You are right...the Master of Life is good! If only we realized just HOW good more often. Enjoy your spring day in Mohicanland, and I'll enjoy early summer in Mohicanland South.

PS...how's about takin' a few pictures of those lilacs??
