Dear Friends--ET, Kate, Bill R., Caitlan, Diana S., Huggy, Rich!
Thank you so much for your kind greetings and best wishes! I am nearly overwhelmed by the friendliness of folks whom, with the exception of Pvt. Chauncey Goodrich, Sarah M., and English Trader, I have never met. Mohicanland is a special place, indeed!
If I may, I will give a brief report on Ft. Frederick and the weekend.
The 77th was there, with Cousins SGT. Malcolm and Pvt. Davey, and Pvt Wm. JohnsTon, 1st Sgt. Campbell and all the lads, along with the 3rd Battalion Pennsylvania, The Augusta Regiment, bolstering the garrison, to help the Maryland Forces repel any attacks that may come their way. In addition, Lt. Col. John Armstrong and all but one of the Kittanning Trek veterans were there: Chief Scout Lane Savage, Pvts. Roger Kirwin, Pete Dobbs, Jim Polechak, Rich Hebrank, and Brian Nye. All were wearing their Kittanning Destroyed medals, and it was an impressive sight. Many people asked to take a closer look at them. Our first day Pilot, Ranger Larry Zilch, was there on Thursday, but could not stay longer. Pvt. Bill Woods was unable to secure leave from his unit to join us this time, but we are planning a full reunion later this summer at Raystown, and hopefully all will be there, including those who were with us for a day or so. It was so good to see them all...and the accomplishment has begun to be referred to by a couple of the men as "The Kittanning Death March."
Uncle Quasi was chasing the lassies, as usual, but was not seen too much until Sunday morning, when a loud shrieking and squealing could be heard coming from the barracks where the lassies were staying. I guess he had found some "company" to keep him entertained early on, and finally escaped. He is rather tight-lipped about things right now!
There is much more to tell, and it will be told in the near future, but for now, I will again say "Thank You All!" for your warmth and good wishes. I am looking forward to greeting you all at the Gathering!
Pax Aye!!

PS: I got a new breechcloth just for the occasion...
