My life revolved completely around my class schedule and I was always frantically trying to stay one design ahead, so that as each class started for a given month, I could post the new designs for the NEXT month & begin the sign-ups. It was VERY stressful, but very rewarding, and I truly enjoyed watching my classes have fun every afternoon & evening as they completed their projects and discovered nothing was beyond them.
: I had a son in college and a daughter in her senior year of high school, and had only been married to Mark for 5 years. Things were going along fairly well on all fronts, but I had yet to find out that Daniel Day-Lewis even existed, much less would soon become my favorite actor of all time. North Carolina? A place of mountain dreams that I always wanted to move to...but I had never been to Chimney Rock Park, Linville Falls, or the towns of Asheville, Hendersonville, Marion, and Morganton. And the Internet? I'd barely even heard the term, and was absolutely sure there would be NO computers in MY life! Technology...UGH! It turns out, however, that it was NOT as I imagined it, thinking of it in Longwood and Orlando! I am grateful every day for my computer and by extension for all the fun and wonderful people that have come into my life as a result of it!

Ten years ago I was nine months into my new career as a newspaper reporter, working for what was then a moderately small newspaper on the South Carolina coast, covering the most nightmarish beat....education. To enlighten folks, this beat mostly had NOTHING to do with the actual education of children but usually involved sitting in five hour school board meetings where people debated various ways of frittering away our tax money...anyway, I eventually moved over to two yars worth of police reporting (LOVED that) and then finally over to music which I do now. (albeit at a different paper)
Ten years ago I had just moved back to the South from my bohemian college days in the lovely town of Yonkers, NY, still had a really bad early '90s/semi-goth hair do with awful bangs, and was in the midst of my Anne Rice/Lestat fetish. but had already seen DDL winning his Oscar for "My Left Foot," wondered "Who is that Beautiful Creature?" and then the next year, when the movie hit the screens, I found out.
The rest, as they say, is history.
