: : : : Chris, of the Call of the Wild Alaska, of the Nanook, where the Elk and the Polar Bear play fame, once told me I was a fraud as GGGG because I had no grey hair. Are you trying to rememdy that situation for me?????? I hear those who ride with you have the wild ride of their lives, and upon exiting the vehicle they have snow white hair!!!
: : True? Or no?
: Hi Bill,
: One teensy little correction. No elk. Polar bears (nanook) and lots of other kinds of bears, and caribou, but no elk.

Hey, Chris...is that for real? I saw elk in Oregon & Washington...is Alaska too far north for them? I know you guys have MOOSE (MEESE?) though, because when I lived in Whittier, Alaska, I saw one with my very own two eyebulbs! Yowzer! That was ONE BIG COW! But no elk? That's interesting. Now, one more question, oh Woman of the Wild North, are caribou the same as reindeer? And elk are wapiti, right? I MUST LEARN MY UNGULATES!!! All we have down here are white-tailed deer & Key deer, and they look pretty much alike, except for the Key deer are eeensy with big, wide feet.
Oh, I lied about the "one" question...I have more. What about mountain goats and bighorn sheep? Too far north for them, too? Where we lived, we saw more of the marine wildlife than the big game. We often saw whales from our living room window.
