: : : I just saw a notice on C-Span that there is going to be a live presentation from Cooperstown, NY on April 23.  The subject will be James Fenimore Cooper's Writings.  This is part of C-Span's series on American Writers.  This should be interesting.

: : : The other thing: I had just posted an item concerning JFC's "The Spy" when the whole Board got archived.  (Rats!)  Therefore, I'm asking the  question again as to what folks think of Cooper's other works, specifically "The Spy".  By the way, Gayle, thank you for your comments.

: : You're welcome.  Have you checked out the JFC website lately?  It has been wonderfully upgraded, and we now have access to a whole lot of scholarly essays and critical papers on the books.  Also, there is a new section on Susan Fenimore Cooper's writings that is very interesting.  Many of the texts are now on line.
