Raestown Stockade
March 26, 1759
There is a work party being formed from the Stockade and the Town to perform a very solemn task. It has been determined that the Lass that HalfBreed and Dink found and buried in the nearby valley was the Tavern Keeper's daughter, Pam. Members of the 77th Regt. and a local or two have volunteered to bring her body in for proper internment. MacGregor and Armstrong and myself, along with Seamus, the Patuxents, and a local farmer, Matthias Goersch (who has offered his horsecart and mule) will make up the detail. Malcolm will not be going, as he has contracted a head and chest cold and is in the infirmary. We have been having spring snows and cold mornings, and Brother Malcolm has had his share of night watches. The weather and the stints out of doors have taken their toll on him. Hopefully he will be back with us in a day or two, until then we do without his cheerful smiling face and sweet sounding voice!
