: : : :: All this living upside down business has obviously gotten to those poor Aussie heads!! :o(

: : : No doubt!! But isn't marmite from your neck of the woods? :o)

: : Well now, I don't know if it originated from here, but I know Brits are certainly said to EAT it! I know that they give it to babies, as a 'trainer' food - get them used to 'real' food. (Argh!!) But to be honest, I don't know of any 'grown-ups' that eat it!!
: : I DO know that many Aussies eat it, though, poor misguided folks!! It's what comes from not voting to become a Republic!! :o)
: : Kate.
: I have no idea where it originated, but you can buy vegemite/white bread sandwiches from street vendors in Cairns. My son (who is still alive, believe it or not) bought one for me, and like a fool, I took a huge bite. Gag! Retch!! Almost barf!!! He thought it was oh! so funny! I will get even.

Ooooooh, Chris!! For what it's worth, my advice to you is - DISOWN HIM!! Anyone who DELIBERATELY allows another to take a bite of a vegemite sandwich, deserves the death penalty!! And believe me, this is THE ONLY crime for which I advocate Capital punishment!!
'Almost' barf??? Sorry,... I'm not one to do things by half.
Kate (still shuddering at the thought of watching my Aussie friends eat vegemite toast at breakfast, in Queensland!!!)
