Jane McCrea ......the "real" Cora

I am doing some research on Jane McCrea. It was James Fenimore Cooper's deep feelings for the loss of this young life through a brutal scalping in the woods that inspired him to write the "Last of the Mohicans".
My family ancestors were her next door neighbors & I have found bits and pieces about her.
She was a very caring young woman and her relationship with David Jones went back to her early childhood...he used to carry her books to school at the John Hanna log school house in Bedminster, New Jersey.
Yes, she later moved to upperstate NY with her mother, brothers and family...they were looking for fertile farmlands, reasonable in price.
Anyone who has any info. whether about her, her family, pedigree charts, etc. Please share...this is nothing that I plan to publish. Thank you. Judy
