I have read about that in several books (some of the Sharyn McCrumb series, and I believe in Cold Mountain, too). And I did read that the mountains were filled with white blooms. But I really didn't pay much attention to the actual chestNUT part. I have read about them being sold boiled on street corners a long time ago, but that's about all. And Bill, I don't think you can buy them down here, unless maybe in cans. I know they aren't carried in any of our stores with the nuts in the fall. I'd love to taste some. You've made me CRAVE them now!!! Dang! I'm always cravin' somethin' I can't have!! But that's ANOTHER story!
