: I don't understand what this web site is about. It seems like it's mostly just about the movie. You know, the Mohicans are not gone. We live in Bowler, Wisconsin. If you want some history info we have a web site too. It's mostly contacts for the tribal offices and businesses but there is a museum on the rez and I think you can contact the museum from there.

Dear R. Bowman,
It seems that you do, indeed, understand this site. It arose out of the movie, and has drawn together many of us who love the movie for itself, others who follow the lives and careers of the players, and still others of us who try to impart some of what we have learned about the mid-18th centry and the struggle going on known as The Seven Years War, or the French and Indian War. Some of us are reenactors who portray real or fictional characters based on factual beings, and attempt to educate still others who know very little about that period of our history. We are educators in that sense who strive, through our writings, to teach those who would accept it. We do not glorify warfare nor take pleasure in knowing what horrible things happened "back then." We also study and portray everyday life of the period as well as re-create military operations and events. No one is sacred here, no one knows it all. We are still learning...I am after over 30 years at this game.
I would welcome your input from the Mohican viewpoint, and would ask that you respond, including the website you mentioned. I am anxious to visit it and see what I can learn, too.
Come back often and visit. We welcome you!
Pax aye!
