: : : : I got a couple disturbing phone calls last nite about my job. 3 office people were laid off and we all had to come in at 7am this morning for a major meeting. Well, I didn`t get far in the gate when 5 operators, including me were asked to go to the office. Seems sales are WAY down and half the plant was shut down including my unit. 17 other employees including myself were laid off this morning. This pretty much kills my summer plans including Gathering. The plant has been in operation for 55 years and this is the first time they have had a lay off. I have been there for 7 years and out of 40 operators, I`m #2. It just didn`t make any since.
: : : : I`ll do everything I can to make Gathering but it looks real slim. They are paying us for our vacation time and even if we get called back, we won`t have anymore for the year. I`ll let you all know how things work out.

: : : Clabert,
: : : I, too, am dismayed that you and your family won't be able to attend the Gathering. I was ready to provide chaffeur services yet another year! Please keep positive thoughts - much can happen in four months. (I haven't told Karen yet - she will also be very disappointed and concerned.)

: : I want to thank all of you that have written and/or called (Adele called me from England yesterday) This morning it really hit home and I`ve been very down. (was supposed to go to work tonight) The notes really help. I`m not giving up on Gathering. Cyndie even said if I can get the time and can find a way to get there I may still be able to come myself. We`ll just have to see what the next 3 months bring.
: : Well, I better git. I have dishes to do and a couple loads of cloths to wash. I have to start planning what I`m cooking for supper to. Yes. I do these things. Hey! Someday I may make someone a good wife. :) As long as they don`t make me do all this wearing nothing but a breechclout! Hahahaha

: Hahahaha....are you kidding. That congers up all kinds of wonderful ideas to me. Oh WOW, a studdly fellow (such as yourself), doing the laundry, the mountains of dishes, the vacuuming (with 5 cats -bleckkkkkkk - there is plenty to vacuum), ....hmmmmmmmmmmm. Couldn't be letting him out to do the grass though like that, might put other fems onto my good find! Oh, I guess I could do yard work...OH YES, I could find plenty of THINGS for a breechclouted fellow to do at my house!
: See the effect you have on us ladies even away from the gathering! Come to think of it...I believe the WEST WING has a kitchen, and beds to make, and floors to sweep. Oh you simply must come to zee gazzering, Meester Clabert, you must! We will make zee special breechclout (I'm thinking French maid-like here, "French" Trader), black wis zee white ruffle around zee edges. We will provide the feather duster and mop!
: Off to daydream about the possibilities.....

So, here I was, having lunch with a friend, when I get this tingling in the back of my brain (okay, so we just call it brain for this public forum). Is that breechclout I hear? But I decided, if, in truth, it were breechclout, then Lady Di would pick up on it and send out the alert. Thanks Di, for holding down the fort while I was out.
Now to get the famous breechclouted one to the Gathering. We need a solid plan.......... NightSky
