The Niece and Nephew Believe They Have Solved the Mystery....and Eyes Turn South

"......so the message about Two Bottle's remembrance of the two brothers named Red Leaf and Red Bud was sent to Many Flags from Three Tales.... Well, me wee bairns, that ends the stories for tonight. I believe your Mother and Father are looking askance at us, so you'd betst be off to your beds. Schnell!" Dr. Uncle Mark lifted the Niece and Nephew off his lap so they could go off to dreamland.

Hannah looked up at her Dr. Uncle with pouting lip, stamped her foot, and protested, "But, Dr. Uncle, won't you tell us what all this means? And when will Seamus and the Corpor..eh, I mean Sargent and Davey Gunn find out about this Red Bud man? Can't you tell us more of the story now?"

Hiram stood beside Hannah, shaking his head the whole time this speech was being made by his sister. When she finished, his face grew into a smile and it was as if one could see the light bulb go on. "Sister, I think I know the answer to the mystery! I know, I know!" With that, Hiram leaned over and whispered into Hannah's ear. When he finished, she cocked her head to one side, thought a bit, then shouted, "That's it! That's it! But...but...then all the Lads are in danger! Oh, Dr. Uncle Mark, if this is true what my Brother has told me, there is danger lurking all around our ancestors!"

Hiram stood straight and tall, pulled his arms in and out and monotoned, "Danger, danger, Will Robinson!"

Dr. Uncle Mark had been watching in awe as his lad and lassie had gone through all these gyrations and emotions. He took them back in his arms. "Now listen, your little actors. The MacWilliam lads will be fine and their adventures will continue. And, if you've figured out the Red Bud mystery, stay tuned. Because it's stranger than what you ever could believe. Because, you see, Two Bottle has more to tell her Three Tales. The story of Red Leaf and this Red Bud man is wierd and curious. And, after we finish that story, the lads are going to head south again to Fort Frederick and then, well wait until you hear about their Gathering together in Carolina! Now, THAT's a story! Now, off to bed with you before your Mother and Father become emotional and notice you!"

Dr. Uncle Mark buzzed his Niece and Nephew on the cheek and off to bed they went. With a twinkle in his eye, Dr. Uncle Mark thought about the Red Bud stories, the upcoming journey of the 77th Grenadiers to Fort Frederick and finally the future scouting trip of Seamus, Uncle Quasi, Sgt. MacWilliam, Davey Gunn, Many Flags, Three Tales, Andrew Kuntz and William JohnsTon to Gather in North Carolina. Ahhhh, what stories he had to tell!!
