Well, the Lads showed up at my house this morning: Cpl. MacWilliam, Davey Gunn, Seamus MacWilliam, Many Flags, Three Tales, Uncle Quasi, with William JohnsTon and Andrew Kuntz (the artist).
Seamus was in one of his lucid moments and blurted out, "We want to be goin' to this Gatherin' thing, but we don't know how to use the machinery to sign up! Can ye be helpin' us, Doctor?" And at that moment, he began to shake and roll his eyes and gnash his teeth. Many Flags whipped out a flask and poured some liquid down his throat. Seamus quickly came to, and as he did all the lads began shaking and gnashing their teeth, so Many Flags had to pass the flask around (as they laughed and slapped each other on the back...the Lads are something, that's for sure!!).
So, I took them all into the house and showed them the computer. I began to give them lessons with the mouse, and finding the letters on the keyboard, and well, you all know!!! It was not possible to teach these 18th century lads anything about a computer...SOOOOOOOO.....
They've decided to camp the night in my house, waking me up at midnight so I can "sign them up" for the Gathering!! I have just fed them some beef barley soup (I tried pizza and tacos, but they roared their disgust at such "foreign fare...must be French!!"), dark bread, and beer. Now quite satisfied, they are reliving some of their adventures, talking of the "redbud" mystery and planning a jaunt to Fort Frederick in April.
To be sure, the MacWilliam lads and their cronies will appear on the February 1 registrations for the Gathering (if I can only keep them under control until then!!)
Pax Aye!
