The MacLeod and I were posted this past week to the Alafia River Rendezvous just south of Plant City, Florida and were gratified to find a bit of Mohicanland here in our own neck of the woods. Not only did we run across some denizens in the flesh (Hi Teri and Stan!), but we got a chance to chat at length with Vern Crowfoot, who worked on LOTM and brought to the Rendezvous his own extensive collection of props and artifacts from the movie. He was also able to clarify once and for all that the longhunter shirt worn by DDL for the majority of shots in the movie was not made of doeskin (that one was saved for publicity shots) but of hickory stained linsey-woolsey. At any rate, the MacLeod and I are now both primed for June and have our fingers hovering over our keyboards waiting for 12:00.01 a.m. on February 1st!
