This day in 1579 saw the birth of the Netherlands

In an attempt to break away from oppressive Spanish rule, the Union of Utrecht is signed by the Dutch provinces of the Low Countries, and a new country, the Netherlands, is born. So here is a thought for our Dutch Trader.....

"Als alle gekken konden vliegen hadden we een permanente zonsverduistering."

Okay, okay......you want a translation??

"If all fools could fly, the sun would be eclipsed forever".
