Dear Sir, and other interested Readers:

"The Guardian" of Manchester (England, naturally), recently reviewed this book and said "The great interest that this book will generate in the ordinary reader comes as much from Anderson's ability to combine the tactical accoutn of military operations with the strategic imperative of events.... At the start Anderson dreams of writing a book that will be accessible to general readers, but one that will also satisfy historians. He has succeeded."

I hope this assists in answering the queries put forth.

: Huzzah!! I have been coveting this book ever since first hearing of it early last year. At Fort Ti, I held it in my hand, but the $40+ pricetag scared me off (Scot, that I am!!). However, thanks to my good friend, Lady Margaret Frazier, and my secretary Miss Jane, I received Crucible as a gift. I have read the first 50+ pages and browsed through certain sections (Forbes Exp., Montgomery's Highlanders). It is "primo"!! Well worth the money!!

: Pax Aye!
