Well folks, here it is. Another year gone. They seem to go by faster and faster the older I get. No problem, as long as they keep a-coming!
This year was pretty noteworthy for the Gnomes. Firstly, the gnomes were BORN. They moved from warm California to cold Wisconsin. Had a breakdown in Phoenix on the way, saw Vegas and Hoover Dam, a two car caravan of 2000 miles. Got settled in to the new tree house, sorted things out, got settled in.
This was the first full year that the gnome has been making rifles.
Had its ups and downs, but I feel a lucky man to be able to do something I like, be my own boss, and learn more about the trade with each rifle. It is also the first year of my joint venture with Rich and Elaine and killdeer. I look forward to the next year working with the two of them.
Betty and I attended our FIRST Gathering!!! Yay! Finally got to hug everybody I had known for several years!!! It was a great time. Started out locked out of our cabin, with Diana driving us all over creation trying to find a key and ending with good old Eric Hurley scampering up a thin, wobbly, TALL little tree 20 feet in the air, hopping onto the deck, and opening our cabin door from the inside!!
What a guy. What an advencha. Got to meet lots of wonderful folks, saw grand vistas and groves, and trod where our LOTM folks had trod.
Betty and I, finding we are indeed still compatible and loving after
four years, made the union official and married. We kept our own last names, but became formally and officially Mr and Mrs Gnome.
Betty's daughter-in-law gave birth to a daughter of her own. A cute little thing with blue eyes a-gurgling and smiling. Betty has taken on the grandma role proudly and well.
And, the year began and ends with comradery and love for all the folks on the board and Mohicanland - and Mohicanland's First Persons
who make it possible - Rich and Elaine!
To you all - each and every one of you - may you enjoy a wonderful New Year's celebration and enjoy a loving, prosperous, eventful and successful year of 2001!!!! Hugs all around!
Mr and Mrs Gnome :)
