Even as some are out looking for a group lodging deal suitable for our needs, the 2001 Great Mohican Gathering has been struggling for its existence. As many of you have heard, via E-Mail, there are "developments" in its reality. We've updated our Gathering Pages, replaced the survey with another (by this time next week, we'll have the results of that first survey posted), and added a message for your perusal. Time to move forward.
Speaking of Gatherings, a nice little bundle of 2000 Gathering photos arrived in the mail just yesterday via the Western Frontier. Haven't had time to scan them yet, but there are some great new shots in there that ought to be gracing our Gathering Pages next time around. Check back in! Thanks, BJST!
What's new? As previously linked to this AM, a page set up to display the pics of the Battle of Kittanning during the French & Indian War ... the culmination of "Armstrong's" journal. We added a picture to our Musings, actually 4-in-one, long lost in our archives, of the props at Chimney Rock Park. Somehow, the very resourceful Marie Faure got them to open the case! The first Killdeer Deluxe rifle has been completed & shipped. A couple of new pics have been added to the Killdeer page, courtesy of Gunsmith "Gnome" Rooks. We now accept PayPal, an electonic funds transfer service, as a method of payment for most items in our Trading Posts. Of course the Gathering Pages are updated, and the usual bits & pieces, here & there, changed, added to, etc. etc.
On The Immediate Horizon: Sound clips to accompany our Mohican Press Interviews ... and an expansion of our History Section to properly place the events of "The Last of the Mohicans" in the context of the French & Indian War.
E-Mail Of The Week: "Hello Everybody
My sincere compliments for the wonderful and complete site ... making me to come over your land to see all... may be ...one day....
From a Mohican fan from Italy"
In Case You Missed It: Significant developments in the future of The River Walk expected this Tuesday! Developer Anthony has refused to continue the moratorium on building on the property, forcing the State's hand. See the Friends of the Falls Web Site!
New DVD News: December 26 is the expected release date. Even better sound; even better picture. Best we can tell, it's the identical version that was released on DVD last November. No other details.
And so, whether you are embarking on your Honeymoon, enjoying the Fall colors in Mohicanland, just kicking back on a lazy Sunday, or rooting and cheering for those New York Yankeees (right, Goody?) ... Happy Trails!
