Unconscious thoughts of a Soldier......

Where am i?........my side and leg hurt terribly......i am cold and wet......my gut also hurts........where am i?

The boom of the cannon.....the crack of the rifle.......smoke.....screams........moans. The First Sarjeant yells...."Prepare to load".......the Corporal screams "ABOUT"..then "UP"......."MAKE READY".

A tremendous volly from the French muskets..... a sharp sting at my side.....another on my leg........and then darkness.

Where is brother Malcolm?.....cousin Seamus?....are they here? I pray to God i am still alive and not yet in the hereafter......i must see my wife yet again.......i pray to God that i am still alive!
