The Papers of Benjamin Franklin at Yale University, co-sponsored by Yale University and the American Philosophical Society, seeks an assistant editor specializing in late 18th-century American history to work on Franklin's correspondence for the period 1785-90. Responsibilities will include research and drafting of annotation, verifying transcriptions of manuscripts, assisting with proofreading and reference-checking, and searching for Franklin documents. An advanced degree in history, computer proficiency, and demonstrated strong writing and research skills required. Ph.D. and/or previous experience in documentary editing preferred; emphasis on Pennsylvania history desirable. AA/EOE.
