: I beg your pardon, Yengeese Strumpet, but did I hear you say that the House of Hoo Hah has been visited by none other than Sheriff Twigg? Surely not! Indeed, Miss, I can't i-MAG-ine our upright Arm of the Law engaging in any such . . . well . . . any such . . *huff, puff* . . well, you know. . . I wonder if Miss Katie and She Who Tracks are aware of this? Certainly not! And poor dear Miss Marcia, I wonder if anyone has told her? Of course, no one would, but then, surely the sweet thing has a right to know if she is being . . . well, you know! Of course, I wouldn't say a word to anyone - gossip is such a low form of communication - but . . .
: OH, SHE! SHE! Nice to see you. Would you like to stop by for a nice cup of tea? I have a LOVELY new can of English tea, and this is just the time to break it out and have a friendly chat.

*Walkin' through a Winter Wonderland...*
I swan! What a lovely day it is today, with the sun a-shinin' down on all the fresh snow. It looks pretty as a picture in Mohicanland, as we get ready to celebrate Christmas! And how pleasant to be all bundled up in my warmest woolens & carryin' my beautiful fur-lined muff which Benton gave me for Christmas LAST year (wonder if I might be surprised with a matching hat or scarf this year??). I purely do LOVE a nice stroll in the snow. Makes me feel like downright frisky!!
"Oh, good afternoon, She. Howdy-do, Miss Gaylee! Mighty nice day today, isn't it?"
Hmmmmmmm...those two look like they're up to something. What was that snickerin' all about, I wonder? And the way they nodded hello, then scooted right inside Miss Gaylee's house. Oh, crikey! I hope they aren't gossipin' about me...I know I presented a shameful spectacle the other night at Bumppo's when I fell an' hurt my back so. I had to have a pretty large dose of squeezin's & mulled wine & cider, strictly for medicinal purposes, of course. But a genteel and RE-fined Southern lady such as myself isn't much used to spirits, doncha know, and I'm afraid I don't remember much about the end of that evening.
Oh, my...a lady's reputation is EVERYTHING, and I surely don't want stories being spread about me...what to do, what to do? I'll ask Benton. He's so upstanding and honest and full of integrity, he'll know how I should handle this. Though, to be sure, never a breath of scandal has ever touched HIM...but still, he's a good man, and will surely protect my interests, if anyone is saying naughty things about me.
I'll just see if I can find him now...
*hurries off down the snowy lane*
