: Well, the only and best way I can explain "Red" is...she's not REALLY directly connected with any of Cooper's novels specifically, but I'm imagining there WERE tavern wenches about at least in the background in some of 'em,correct? And there certainly are in every novel/movie I see from the era...so I like to think of "Red" as somebody from the 18th century who has allowed me to channel her...hey, the 21st century can never have too many wench blouses, right?

My dear Christina...ahem...Red (oooo...I LIKE that!)--

I can ASSURE you there were tavern wenches. I have done my master's thesis on tavern wenches!! I have "interviewed" more tavern wenches than you can imagine...the boys will tell you! If you recall, I was found many times in the company of at least two, and if you look in the MacWilliam Chronicles Photo Gallery you will see for yourself that I had a WONDERFUL time with three lovely tavern wenches. Tavern wenching is my favorite past time!
Why, I have wonderful tavern wench friends all over the colony. Sometimes I will be gone for weeks visiting my friends.

Red, I'd be honored to party at your tavern...or anywhere else, for that matter...you're my kind of gal!
