: Now, Miss Katie, don't be too hard on Dweebie. As ye can see, Sassy brought him in from the river with his head frozen in a block o' ice, and the rest of him blue as one o' Doc Mary's jokes. I THINK (I prefer to think) that the poor soul's just tryin' to get his hands warm. We'll give him the benefit o' the doubt, since his gifts are not those of yer standard average Mohicanland citizen.
: Let's put Hector on his lap and wrap the two of 'em in one o' yer fleecy blankets, and I daresay he'll warm up fast enough.
: As for Miss Marcia, I believe she has succumbed to an evening snooze in Sheriff Twigg's arms. Exhaustin' slippin' on snow, ye know. That little bit o' Squeezin's she put down has relaxed her more'n usual, I must say.
: What I want to know is, how are we goin' to get all that meat unfrozen from all those pelts and the blankets and the parched corn so I can distribute my Christmas offerin's to folks? That's what I want to know.

Well, She Who Tracks! It's grand to see ye again about these parts! Glad ye got back safe & sound from yer latest adventure. I DO hope you've brought back some goodies for all of us here in Mohicanland. This hard, cold winter's left us snowed in around here for the LONGEST time, and we've a need for fresh meat & other supplies. Say, ye didn't come across any herbs & the like on yer travels, didja? I'm runnin' low on my spells & soothsayin' supplies, doncha know.
Yeah, I brung Dweebie back, the big blockhead! Soon's we get him thawed out, he'll be as sharp as usual, tee hee...pardon my mirth!...but he'd best stay away from Miss Marcia's quilts over there if he doesn't want his head stove in as well as frozen. She's got a kick like a mule, and warmin' his hands up under HER quilts uninvited is just asking fer trouble. *tsk* What an idjit! Ooops, beg pardon, Sheriff Twigg, I know he's yer couzin an' all, but the boy ain't wrapped too tightly, if you get my drift.
Lemme have a bowl of that there stew, if you please, Miss Gaylee. Thankee kindly...ummmmmm...tasty, even if I'm not quite sure WHAT Miss Marcia used in this recipe. Are these SCALES floating in here? And what's that green bit? Well, maybe it don't do to look it over too closely. It's hot & right tasty, so I'll just take me chances with the rest of ye.
Ahhhh, it's right cozy here at Bumppo's tonight, inside by the fire with friends & family gathered round. And you, too, Hector...after all, outside ain't fit fer man NOR beast. Let's all drink to the holiday season. She, pull up a stool here by the fire, and tell us all about yer travels! (And somebody do somethin' about that snorin' comin' from Miss Marcia...here's a sock...that oughtta tone it down a bit!)
