I've watched the movie many, many times now and I can't get a decent enough look at the two guns, My gut feeling is that chingachgook Had a french Fusil, the stock outline looked like a type D fusil. I believe in the book he had a short barreled large bore musket but its been ages since I've read cooper's novel(and I live 5 miles from Cooperstown how dare I!?)

The other gun looks like a Pennsylvania Rifle, I had thought there'd be info out there on the net about these weapons but all the info is about Deerslayer.

Hope someone can help me out here!
