Could be, could very well be. I wonder why it is that nobody picked up on Uncas having a rifle before, or mentioned it. I must have missed the post if they did mention it. Have to go check that out. Anybody know who made Uncas rifle, if rifle it is?

: Here's my 2 cents. From what I can see in the film it looks like Uncas is carrying a Pennsylvania style rifle (in some scenes you can clearly see a patchbox on the butt, which of course most muskets did not have). But Chingachgook is carrying a French fusil, the stock profile of his musket is unmistakably French.

: : I am going to have to watch it yet again. But I am pretty sure the stock profiles of both Ching and Uncas guns are of muskets.
: : Fusils in fact. But.......I will look again.

: : : Having only watched LOTM about 10 times, and never noticing exactly what Uncas and Chingachgook are carrying, I would be interested in also knowing if their "rifles" were similar to Hawkeye's which was crafted by Wayne Watson (see MacWm. Chrons photos as Tales, Seamus and I are with Mr. Watson in one of them).....for Uncas and Ching were surely carrying "rifles" not muskets and, of course, Pennsylvania rifles they would be!!
