: : : RING RING RING!
: : : COME ONE, COME ALL!
: : : bY ORDERS OF PUBLICANT, OUR MIGHT TAX COLLECTOR, THE MYSTERY OF MARIE DE MERLE, THE MAGNIFICENT, MAY NOT YET BE SOLVED!
: : : However, the Publicant, always glad to contribute to the well being of Lotmers, has allowed The Printing Shoppe to display the synopsis of the fascinating historical novel by MdM:
: : : So, indeed, Here is the synopsis of the novel which is of interest to everyone in this realm:
: : : (by the way, one hint, MdM is NOT Vita or Kristina O'Donnelly)
: : : ....As a nation struggles to emerge & discover its own identity, a young girl finds herself caught within the violence of its Machiavellian birth. Thrust into the tumultuous winds of war & rebellion, fifteen year old Martine sets upon a quest not of her own choosing - a journey of survival & self-discovery that leads her through a maze of hellish discoveries.
: : : Before she can succeed in her journey's destiny, she must first come to terms with the bitter realization that things are not as they appear to be - and in the process, discover her true self.
: : : "Eden's Winter" is the first book in the historical fiction series, "The Eden Pendulum" by Marie de Merle. The series, which swings back & forth between America & France, opens during the American Revolution where we meet the young spirited Martine Goodson. Daughter of an English born American merchant & a French-Canadian mother, Martine personifies the cultural, political, ethnic, & religious clashes that pervaded American colonial society & molded the character & collective mindset of the offspring nation.
: : : .....
: : : Enjoy discussing it at Bumppo's, tonight!
: : : The link also contains Chapter One of Eden's Winter, so there is plenty to get drunk about and for!
: : : Yr Humbl and Obedient
: : : TowneCrier Always On The Job
: : PS: Where are you, you good people of Mohicanland? Granted, Eden's Winter has no loincloth description, though it is endowed with plenty other hot topics which is guaranteed to make you thirst for Magua-On-Tap (ah-hem, wink wink!)
: : Well we shall postpone the drinks and merriment and intellectual conversation to tomorrow...
: : EDEN'S WINTER
: Dear TC
: I fear the long holiday weekend has left Mohicanland sparsly populated. I myself have had little time to converse here on the board having been too busy running all over town trying to do all the errands I should have done during the week. Typical. Tomorrow I'll be getting ready for another ladies film party, this time viewing Dances With Wolves. (Yipeee..I get to see Magua again, only in a different costume and this time on a horse!)
: Hopefully, I'll be able to join everyone tomorrow at Bumppo's for libation and conversation.
: Till Then!...Jeri
Christina and the Red-Haired-Lass haven't been doing their wenchly duties on the board for the past two days because of a quick journey to the beach to have libations and dinner with a friend in from Chicago, and then yesterday to our university's football game, where the poor buggers finally won a game after two and a half years. Consquently, the goalposts came down...will be back this evenin' though!
