: : : : : Did anyone else think he was very, very sexy? His eyes kind of smoldered. I was so disappointed when I truly learned that he had known that Magua was going to attack the English. I beleived his gallantry and his wanting Monro to "listen to the admonishons of humanity"
: : : : : LIAR!
: : : : Hi Lauren,
: : : : I didn't exactly find him sexy, but he does have unusual eyes. I believe that Montcalm sympathised with Magua and understood Magua's reasons for wanting revenge on Monroe. Obviously he couldn't give his approval for the attack, so it was more or less an unspoken agreement between the two men. I always thought that the friendship between Montcalm an Magua added a new deminsion to the character of Magua...less of a vicious warrier and more a tortured soul. Does that sound weird?

: : : Hey, Jeri and Lauren,
: : : I think Montcalm was too slick to think of Magua as a friend. Montcalm was all business. I think he just took advantage of Magua's hate for Monroe to win the battle for the fort with the least amount of bloodshed to his own men. I think his eyes were very cold. Shimmery. Icey.

: : Hey Dana!
: : Interesting...we definetely have different perspectives of the man. I guess I'm going to have to go back and view the scenes between Magua and Montcalm again with 'new eyes' so-to-speak. I don't know if I'll change my mind, but it's sure given me something to go back and look at!

: I'll watch with your comments in mind, too. His breeches, Jeri...Did you like his breeches? I'm assuming Lauren liked the breeches. Maybe we can all agree on Montcalm's breeches.:)

Dear Dana,
I agree with you on this case; indeed he was a shrewd man of war, all's well that ends well (aka in his victory) his motto. Yes, a less poetic but quite accurate description of him is "USER."
