: : : : Hi Lauren,
: : : : I have to admit that the rewind and FF button on my VCR remote gets a work out every time I watch LOTM. If I remember correctly, I think I played that particular scene at least three times before I figured out what poor Duncan was saying as the Hurons were preparing to cart him off. When I've run across a piece of dialogue that I really couldn't make out in the film, I've resorted to reading the script to find out what was being said!

: : : ::I guess you must be a tad new to the board. Oh my, you missed a great discussion of the very line about a year or so ago. I forget who originally brought it up (sorry!) but the person said she thought Duncan said "my corns hurt sir--take her and get out!"--we had such a great laugh over that and we all still giggle when it is brought up. Actually, I prefer that line to what Duncan really says!--PP :-)

: : PP: I think it was Dana who believed poor Duncan was bemoaning his ill-fitting boots, hurting bad enough to go to the fire rather than walk another step. NightSky
