: : : : out the line "my compliments sir, take her and get out?" I finally figured it out when I got a close captioning tv!
: : : Hi Lauren,
: : : I have to admit that the rewind and FF button on my VCR remote gets a work out every time I watch LOTM. If I remember correctly, I think I played that particular scene at least three times before I figured out what poor Duncan was saying as the Hurons were preparing to cart him off. When I've run across a piece of dialogue that I really couldn't make out in the film, I've resorted to reading the script to find out what was being said!

: : ::I guess you must be a tad new to the board. Oh my, you missed a great discussion of the very line about a year or so ago. I forget who originally brought it up (sorry!) but the person said she thought Duncan said "my corns hurt sir--take her and get out!"--we had such a great laugh over that and we all still giggle when it is brought up. Actually, I prefer that line to what Duncan really says!--PP :-)
: Hi Penny,
: So that's where that reference came from..LOL..I wondered about that!

Well, Doctor M is such a humble, modest, retiring sort
of person she hates to take the credit for this, but
by damn, she's going to take the credit for this!
When Ricardo first set the Board up, all these many
eons ago, one of the first topics was mis-heard lines,
and my hearing "My corns hurt, sir" was one of my
first posts. So as you can see, it has Great Historical
Significance! *snort! snort!*
