Well, we had all kinds of folks lined up outside here waitin' to hear some announcement that the Towne Cryer was going to make, but then the skies opened up. So no announcement, but my did we get the crowd inside! Mrs. O'Reilly and I have been slingin' hot cider and whiskey to warm up a whole mess o'soaked folks...includin' some poor wayward trappers who got flushed out of the woods. Now I must say wet buckskin smells like haggis left out in the sun, but neither Mrs. O'Reilly nor I were doin' any complainin' when these nice young men had to take off their shirts and dry off in front of our roarin' fire...but anyway, it's right festive in here this evenin'. I'm thinkin' the Nice Huron Delivery Boy and his friends might kick in with some songs again soon, and the Yengeese woman was suggestin' somethin' about a wet loincloth contest. Now, I've never been to one of those, but you know, that's what life is all about, ain't it? New experiences! And what better place to weather the storm than Bumppo's???
By the way, Eclair, I saw Dweebie again today. Seems that Twister game has still got him cured of his lovesick ways...although I was rather curious to hear him mutterin' aloud about some book he's readin'..."Karma Suitin???" What would that be, I wonder?
And who do we speak to about trouble with the Mohicanland water supply? Today when Mrs. O'Reilly went out to the well to get some fresh water for our daily cups of Duncan's Extra Dark Roast, we found wee little hats and trousers floatin' in the water...do ye reckon some poor itinerant travelers was washin' in our well and their clothes shrunk? Either that or there's some real small naked folk runnin' around...wonder if my Leprechaun friends are about.
anyway...back inside...I hear the Delivery Boy and Dweebie startin' up with a ballad...
pax aye, the Red Haired Lass
