: : : It was my impression all these years that Cora and Nathaniel made love in the kissing scene.  Their bodies and her facial expressions seemed to say as much.  I always thought this was the best love scene as it was so intense yet showed no skin so to speak?  Anyone have any thoughts?

: Oh beyond all doubt, I believe they did the deed. Originally in my innocence I believed it was just a kiss, but in the 40 odd times or more since then that I've viewed the aforesaid scene, I've decided that oh my yes, they consummated. I'm a firm believer in the "seize the day" approach, particularly in times of war, and I can't but believe that Cora took opportunity in hand (please God, no pun intended...) and they came together...the thoughts arising in my head are enough to send me to Confession for a thousand years, so I'll end here.
