: I never said that you were aiming your post at me. I am just tired of hearing descendants of indians complain about how whites 100+ years ago treated them so unfairly. It's kind of like the germans feel about the holocaust: How many guilt trips must we be put on, how many times do we have to apologize? The long and the short of it is, I am sick of hearing indian this indian that waaa waaa waaa! Look how many people rallied to your support after you criticized me for my response. You say you just wanted to show it from a different perspective, but the "poor picked on indians and evil heartless eurocentric white man" perspective is the one which is always crammed down our collective throats. I am sure you will all flame me for this because I dare to not simper and grovel at the word indian. And you will all say I have no sense of humor etc based on a few paragraphs you read posted by a person whom you never met. Flame on.

If I was going to 'flame' you for anything, it would be for your lack of sensitivity and courtesy in expressing yourself on this board. Perhaps, if you are tired of hearing about Indians, then this is not the best place for you to hang your hat, since the topic, not surprisingly, comes up rather a lot around here. And maybe people 'rallied to my support' because they feel the same way as I, that my post was not about the 'poor picked on indians', it was about a clever piece of writing that used role reversal in (what I thought was) an interesting way.
By the way, I still do not understand how you can take the post I made and see it as attempting to make YOU (or anyone else) feel guilty. Thirty years ago, someone wrote an article role reversing historical events of a couple of hundred years ago - how does that turn into a 'white-bashing' attack? I am a white European, my ancestors are the most to blame for the demise of the Indian, yet I don't feel provoked to feel responsible or guilty as a result of this article. Why do you?
