: We subscribe to Smithsonian magazine, which I'm addicted to, and this month's edition on page 97 has an excellent article about the "Renaissance of the Longrifle." Features discussions of modern craftsmen who make them, history of the rifle, as well as a painting of Natty Bumppo done by M.C. Wyeth and some trivia about "Last of the Mohicans" and "The Patriot." 

: This magazine also had Mel Gibson and "The Patriot" on its front cover I believe in its June or July issue, and the story was a really interesting one about the making of the movie...
