: Good point..Yes, there were some corrupt people..Some of them could be found in our Indian Residential Schools. My mom is a survivor of that. Many Native people all over Canada suffered physical, sexual and mental abuse by those who were supposed to teach and "help".Yes, some of them belonged to various churches..However, that doesn't mean that one can condemn for example the WHOLE Catholic Church. There were also priests who dedicated their lives to truly helping people..I am lucky enough to know one of them. He helped people in the North and here in Alberta.He was and is such a blessing, although he is 81 years of age now..And this is were things get complicated again..Since Father Francis helped  MANY people from the bottom of his heart  (including me), should he be forced to apologize or pay for the actions other priests committed? The lawsuits are popping up everywhere and I know for a fact that the OMI ( Oblates of Mary Immaculate)won't be able to help out people anymore within the next two years..So, this is indeed a very complex issue..
