Hello Everyone:

Please forgive this intrusion.

I hope I've come to the right place to ask this question.

A friend of mine who passed away recently once regaled me with a story of how she came to master the art of beadwork - she had been taught in her youth by an elderly Native American.

The question I never got the chance to pose to her was - what is the connection between beading and the Native Americans. So many tribes seem to have been masters at it that I am curious as to its origins and lore with them.

Any help would be appreciated.
