: : : : Today is the anniversary of the birth of one of my favourite authors, Alexandre Dumas (if you have never read The Three Musketeers or The Count of Monte Cristo - you should!). Hence the thought for the day being........
: : : :
: : : : "All for one, one for all, that is our device."
: : : : (Alexandre Dumas, French novelist, 1802-1870)
: :
: : : : PS Quick 6 degrees - Dumas wrote 'Les Mohicans de Paris'!
: : :
: : : What on EARTH could The Mohicans of Paris been about? Huggy?
: : : What was it about?
: : : Bill R

: : ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
: : Well - I have absolutely no idea!!! I have never been able to get hold of it! It is not one of his more famous works - and it seems very hard to find. As far as I know, it is a set of 9 or so novels set in the 1820's but that is as much as I can tell you I am afraid.
: : Anyone else out there with more information??
: : HM
: Hi -
: 'Les Mohicans de Paris' was a detective story/mystery.

: ~The first French novelist who presented a police officer favorably was Alexandre Dumas
: when he wrote Les Mohicans de Paris in 1854/55. This book introduced Police detective
: Monsieur Jackal, who was remarkable for his introduction into the language the phrase
: “Cherchez la femme!" ~
: Trivia Question; There's another Six Degrees to LOTM from Dumas. Anyone know what it is? (Or should we add it to our 6 Degrees to LOTM page?)

I can only think of a couple of rather dull ones......
Steven Waddington was in 1492 as was Gerard Depardieu who was also in The Man In the Iron Mask which was written by Dumas
or
Randall Wallace directed Man In The Iron Mask by Dumas. And he wrote the screenplay for Braveheart. Braveheart starred Mel Gibson. Mel Gibson voiced Rocky in Chicken Run. Rocky was a boxer. DDL was The Boxer.
Best I can do I am afraid
