Rich....I also looked into site of Against All Odds...I instantly bookmarked it and will begin to frequent it. Fascinating! And you said something interesting....Yes, I know the movie Little Big Man VERY well. One of my favorite movies....did a bit of research on Custer, Little Big Horn (Greasy Grass), etc. when I did my dissertation on Carlisle Indian School.. Amazing the number of Natives who were at Greasy Grass who later had ties to the White Man's schools....but that's another topic.
Your comment, that the portrayal of Custer in Little Big Man gives people the wrong impression of Custer and they BELIEVE it...exactly what I have been grouching about with the Patriot. Hollywood provides entertainment but much misinformation in historical films which the public believes and this does a disservice to what historians attempt to do....educate. This past week I was with several of the teachers from my school, intelligent people, when one said, "I saw the Patriot. No wonder we hated the British and fought for independence from England. They were very cruel people!"
Enough said....Pax Aye!
