: : Tawny Port is lighter in body and drier in taste than regular port. It is smooth and mellow on the rocks or at room temperature, it is for cocktails or for after dinner. Some people do not care for it, although I find it quite pleasing to me. I do believe, though, of the three...madeira, port, or tawny port...I prefer port.

: Dear Seamus and Vita,
: Having been introduced to Madeira wine on the island of Madeira about 10 years ago, I have to say that it is the finest sipping wine I have ever tasted! I treat myself to one bottle a year at Christmas. If you like sweet wines, Vita, try this. Port is also very good. I too prefer it to tawny port. I would be interested in your opinion if you try one of these.

dear Chris,
Listen to this: I do VERY MUCH WANT AND TO TELL THE TRUTH, NEED!!!! a glass of something. Madeira and Port sound exotic enough, and vaguely I do recall having tasted Port sometimes in the past... yes, I like sweet wine.
But I live in the boondocks in the South, and do not drive, and got 2 good friends/families who help me out; however, being so sick and tired of being a pain in the neck to them, though being good people they feel offended when I speak thusly.... anyhow, one friend called today, in fact drove by when I said no thank you I need nothing, am OK, drove by to make sure I am not fibbing and opened my refrigerator (OK, OK, I said am on a diet, hence the space in the said box), then of course, left, the other friend and wife came by and brought me some chicken just in case I am on one of my starvation modes, sooooo.....unless I take a taxi to go to town... nothing nada no Port no Madeira....
and young lady, am tackling Front Page!!!!!!! In one of my earlier posts, I mentioned my husband's buddy from this high faluting www. company waaaaaay up North, who offered to help, but after we had a brief talk, he said he has got to consult his notes at home... from when he had a similar problem....
sooooooooo.... my darling girl, if you should cybermail me said ambrosias and nectars... tonight... I shall ever be so grateful!!!!!!
;-)
