: Well, not quite, but the wilds of the western frontier's Pennsylvania will do! We just got in last night from a totally ATYPICAL (for us!) vacation ... actually, these days, ANY vacation at all is atypical! It was a week spent in NE Pennsylvania at a gorgeous lakeside resort, with my Mom, brother & sister and spouses, and all the grandkids (15!). It was different, to say the least, to have no ... ZERO ... Internet access. A break from computers was probably what I needed MORE than a break from work! Just relaxation, food, more food, even MORE food, swimming, boating, and kids havin' fun ... NEEDED! (Oh, squeezed in a "brief" side trip to Antietam, of course!) As we traveled through SW Virginia ... home of NightSky & Boy Toy ... couldn't help but to comment on that area's pastoral beauty!
: So, upon returning, had the fun of sifting through a box full of E-Mail (I think we've now replied to all deserving of one!) ... There's one thing about "Mohicans" on TV ... along with the great people, it brings in the influx of loonies ... Is bigger better? Not sure, from where we stand. Visitation went through the roof, and that basically is a good thing. After all, we WANT people to see the Site! Among the E-mail, including Eric Schweig inquiries, future Gathering inquiries, questions about weapons, music, awards, locations, & cast, were the gamut of the opinion spectrum ... From, "This is a truly illuminative, informative website, a pleasure to read, so easy to navigate ... it is probably the best website I have seen," [Thank you SEW much!] "You have a great site! Very well done and researched, you must be very proud," [Yes, we are!] and "your page is awesome. congratulations on making such a wonderful and informative site. those who worked and acted on LOTM should be proud of your site" [We know at least SOME of them ARE!] ... to "'Unfortunately, my first meager attempts at publishing this booklet were to no avail, mainly, I think, due to the fact that I hit the wrong publishers.' No, it's because it sucked," [We guess THAT 'Cleared it up any' ... THANKS!] and "LOVE THE PHOTOS, BUT HATE THE *$#&@ BOUNCING BALL. IS ITEM AVAILABLE WITHOUT THIS MAJOR ANNOYANCE? PLEASE ADVISE." [re: our MP Screen Saver. This person revealed himself as an "illegal" downloader ... Heaven FORBID! ... We'll have to relocate the screen saver in the very near future!] And, so it goes! The MORE the MERRIER!?!
: Anyhow, it was fun to read through days' worth of threads ... full of thoughts, reviews (a little harsh on "The Patriot," eh? I do have to fully agree with the person who complained about the cliched scenes. That's probably my major complaint), humor, Gathering Fame, frontier adventures, star-quests & bugs, Highlanders, Jo's MAJOR achievement, Doc's words of wisdom, cries for TGATL, and all the rest!!! Good to be back with you all!! It really is!
: We left the Taiwan problem in the hands of our ISP guy. Looks like he did alright. Most of you probably didn't realize just how many of those things come in each night ... 20-30, usually. Looks like it'll boil down to a battle of wills! Good. Something to do in our spare time! Susan, we may hire you on ... looks like you might have the right idea!
: Bursting at the seams now ... Well over 2000 individuals reaching the Site each day ... Will probably result in more such nonsense, but ... what the heck!
: The above graphic comes to us courtesy of a well-known MohicanLander ... coiner of the famous & oft-used phrase, "Woohooooo." The Powder Horn, engraved with maps & drawings, was crafted by our Gnome, Bill Rooks. Another fine example of this man's talent. Thanks for sharing it with us, Dana!
: Now, with the 2000 Gathering past, and a vacation in the books ... the time has arrived for us to re-settle, get back in the groove, and continue to enhance & enlarge this Site. And we will ... PROMISE!

A little late here, (my middle name); but of course I enjoy every Sunday update; love reading them; however, Ms. Kate, the trees were no problem while I finished my "major ACHIEVEMENT" I had to stay away from the burning campfire...not the trees....
