Three Tales and Manyflags,
We have recieved your message concerning your departure into the Great Woods of the Colony of New York. I to as many of us would like to have a simaliar refuge. We continue our march west. The going is slow and the pioneers work hard to remove thetrees and widen the path. We are still moving to what is called Raystown, high in the mountains. Hopefully we will rest there for a few days.
Malcom and 1st Sgt. Campbell are quiet following the news from
the north. They sit and converse among themselves smoking a pipe or two and speaking in hushed tones. The news seems to have affected them more than most of the lads. Speaking of which the young Mac Gregor is doing well. Oh, to be young again and have the strength of a lad. He gets on well with the younger lads and always pitches in to help.
But, they all work hard. The Captain even complimented the Regiment for the miles we have covered and the heat which works to slow us down. Aye, the 77th is going forward.
We await news of you both. Keep a sharpe watch and there will always be a seat at the fire for you.
