: Dear Friend,

: We are in reciept of the letter from Seamus concerning the attack on Fort Carillon.  I pray this fines you well and still among the living.
: It must have been a terrible battle.   I sit here in this great wood and swat atbugs and lice wondering what horrors you have witnessed.
: We are all wondering about our own mortallity today.   Such and event brings to mind our own ability to deal with ourselves and make peace with our God.   I have noticed a couple of the lads reading from the Book of Common Prayer.

: We are to move on towards Raystown and then further West.   I am sure the French are aware of our efforts.   Even the birds seem to become silent at our approach.   

: Give my regards to Seamus and Chauncey.   As well as the rest of your party.
