: : : : : : : : : : I like work; it fascinates me. I can sit and
: : : : : : : : : : look at it for hours. I love to keep it by
: : : : : : : : : : me: the idea of getting rid of it nearly
: : : : : : : : : : breaks my heart.

: : : : : : : : : This one is going on the icebox! (That would be 'refrigerator' to those who are nowhere near the GGGGG stage.)
: : : : : : : : : Dana S.
: : : : : : : : Why, Dana! You must be squarely in my demographic group!
: : : : : : : : :o)
: : : : : : : : Chris
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Don't know about Dana, but I know I AM certainly in your demographic group! Now, geographic is an entirely different sit-chu-a-shun....I don't go where it stays dark for 6 months!!! God, I'd never be able to stand the depression or survive the first winter. Lizzie Borden wouldn't hold a candle to MY bizarre behavior if I was deprived of sun for more than a week.

: : : : : : I hear you, Gnomie! Where I live it's gray practically
: : : : : : every day from Nov. through March, so by the time spring
: : : : : : rolls around I'm a bit testy, and am in fact stepping
: : : : : : on the bodies of all the hapless souls I murdered during
: : : : : : wintertime. I sent away for a catalog for those artificial
: : : : : : light sources that are supposed to cheer you up...one
: : : : : : was a helmet you put on, with two lightbulbs on stalks
: : : : : : that you could turn around to shine directly into your
: : : : : : eyes. I figured that it would work because once I
: : : : : : strapped the sucker on and started walking around in
: : : : : : public I would be immediately transported to an asylum
: : : : : : where the lights would be on allll the time...thus I
: : : : : : would be cured!
: : : : : : Doc M
: : : : : Oh my god.....it just gets scarier and scarier. We are alike on this one too. I hate winter. By the end of January I am like really depressed and irritable. Don't know that I would go so far as buying one of those contraptions though.....WHAT IS IT with you and these electronic helmets????????? At least the other one would arouse you, whereas this one you speak of could only burn huge holes in your retinas.....how could something that puts you in darkness like FOREVER be touted as a cure for no-sun depression? Check the label, I bet it was made by our nightly Chinese visitors.

: : : : Could be. Could be. The sly little devils! Yes, Gnomie,
: : : : frightening as it is, it appears we think much alike.
: : : : People laugh at me when I say I want to move to the
: : : : Massachusetts coast, because I hate snow and cold. But
: : : : it's the LIGHT I want. That area has the most beautiful,
: : : : clear light when the sun comes out -- probably the ocean
: : : : has something to do with it. And when you're not getting
: : : : blizzards, you get actual bright sunlight, as opposed
: : : : to the half-a** hazy light we get here. It must work,
: : : : because I've left very few dead bodies in Boston, as
: : : : opposed to the many I have hidden here! LOL!

: : :
: : : ANOTHER similarity. I detest winter. I used to live in Yonkers, NY (which I've decided is just bastardized Dutch for "big cement toilet.." but anyway...) and all of February and March there was grey and slushy and depressing. We actually almost pooled our money one year to buy this $300 "light box" we could put in our dorm rooms...I can't stand grey rainy days either...I have friends who have been trying to convince me to move to Seattle. Oh yeah, like that would be good. Three things I detest all in one city -- rain, Starbucks coffee and Microsoft.
: :
: : OOOpps..sorry bout the double post. Jumpy computer. Sorry. And I forgot...Seattle has FOUR things I can't stand. The other one is my ex-boyfriend, also known as He Whose Name Shall Not Be Spoken.
: You just send kindly old Doc M some details about HWNSNBS,
: Sweet Pea. She'll take care of him for you. How many
: eyeballs do you want him to wake up with? And what would
: you like to see growing out of his forehead? I'll send
: you the catalog. Living in Seattle?? Oh God. THERE'S
: a dream come true...right after chewing briskly on
: tin foil and inserting little slivers of glass in my
: eyes. Or what was that expression about cleaning the
: toilet? LOL!!
: Doc M
Or, to put out there another one of those little sayings.......
I'd rather drink lighter fluid and pee on a fire.
