Well now, welcome back, all you Gatherers and other Citizens of Mohicanland! It surely was nice to see those first few wagons pull into town and hear the sound of doors and windows opening and kiddies running over the Village Green and folks hollerin' back and forth to each other and swearin' at their horses. Sure has been quiet around here the last week!
Saw Miss Marcia and Miss Katie pullin' in by Miss Marcia's back door and draggin' themselves up the veranda steps like they been climbing mountains and fordin' streams for a month. Reckon it's going to feel good to those two worn out ladies to set a spell in the evening breeze and suck down a mint julep or two. Guess I'll go take them a bunch of flowers tomorrow and tell them how glad I am they were away havin' fun while hostile Indians attacked the town, stole all the candles and left us settin' here in the dark for the last few days. If I exaggerate jest a little bit, Miss Marcia will be all lovey and concerned, and I bet she makes me a special batch of her Fuuuu-dge just for being such a hero all by my lonesome here.
Well, I can't really say "all by my lonesome". 'Course, She Who Tracks and Hector were here holdin' the fort with me, but then, what kinda company is that in a crisis?!!
And there's the Town Crier, hovin' into sight and gettin' ready to take up her announcin' duties again. Dawn has been a silent vigil around here not knowin' what time it is or what's goin' on. Good to see you, Town Crier!
Must say, that smoke signal from the Sachem about the new member of the Tribe warmed my heart for sure. The Tribe just keeps growin' and growin', and since now we got nine, Jai alai in loincloths is out - now it's baseball in diapers! Whole new generation here!
Well, time to get movin' around and see if I can help folks get settled in. My! but it's good to have everybody back in town!
