: If you haven't written your letter to save the falls, do it today!  Laura and I had lunch at the River Cafe in Chimney Rock which is owned by the park.  In speaking with the waitress, she reveled to us that at one time Chimney Rock Park was supposed to be developed as a private resort.  Egads!  Had that happened LOTM may not have been filmed done there, Rich wouldn't have done the book, etc. etc. etc. Talk about a ripple effect! As one who broke the law to "walk the river and hide under bridal veil", it's worth the time to write a letter.  If we can help convince Fox to make a director's cut of a movie (poor editing aside), we can certainly help save the falls!  Do whatever it takes, and hopefully we can celebrate with a visit next year?!
